Since October 2006 we have opened our Pumpkin Patch for u-pick. In the beginning we didn’t realize the interest,
and we were pretty small. We had a hayride wagon that we had to carry a ladder along to get up and down. Over
the years we have built stairs at both ends of the ride. We have never charged anyone for the hayride and we never
plan to. Our driver does accept tips to defray the cost of fuel, but that is totally up to the people riding.
When you take the hayride to the patch you will be in the very place that most of the pumpkins grow. If you are
the first group to go to the patch you might have to stomp down some vines to see the pumpkins. We grow extra
pumpkins in a backup patch to make sure we can keep the pumpkin patch full.
Sometimes you can find decorative gourds in the patch. There are many varieties of our pumpkins that are edible
as well as decorative. We have recipes for roasting Pumpkin Seeds and Old Fashioned
Pumpkin Pie available at the farm stand. While you are at the stand check out our
carving patterns and tools.
Fall is a time for beautiful natural decorating. At our stand you can find Indian corn, mini pumpkins and gourds,
and corn stalks. Most fall decorations are still appropriate until Thanksgiving.
Remember our hours are Friday and Saturday from 9:00 until 6:00 and Sunday from 1:00 until 6:00.
Field trips are still welcome, please call for an appointment.
