Partnership Greenhouse Project with Vogel Farms
Our 2020 Greenhouse is open. Due to Covid -19 panic our vegetables are selling out fast. Our Flower selection is still beautiful
All of the vegetables we grow on our farm are started from seed. Some plants like tomatoes and peppers need to be started during the winter so that they are strong enough to plant outside in May. In 2005 Chan bought me a little greenhouse from harbor freight. It was just right for the time being. I crammed lots of plant starts in there that spring. In the spring of 2006 I met Debi Vogel. Debi is really into flowers and my need for vegetable plants was outgrowing my baby greenhouse. I think it was 2008 that we decided to team up and plant together in her much larger greenhouse. So I started learning about planting flowers from seed. We decided to sell our extra plants to help fund our own gardens.
Our joint greenhouse project started with one really long table made from hog panels. Next thing you know we were begging for (and got) another big table. Pretty soon that wasn't enough either, so Chris and Ed (from Vogel Farms) built us an upper shelf for one of our tables. Our starter shelf grew from one unit to two, and then three. Then we asked for an upper shelf for the really long table. By 2011 we could no longer squeeze another table into the greenhouse so Chris and Ed built us “The Annex,” an extra greenhouse to hold our overflow. This 2016 season saw yet another expansion, our greenhouse itself was expanded so we have even more room..
