Educational Opportunities

I never used to think of a trip to the farm as an educational experience, but time after time, our visitors would tell us, “I really enjoyed this,” “I never knew that,” or “this has been a true educational experience.” We started to realize how out of touch the average American is with where their food comes from. After spending most of the last 30+ years raising our own family, education comes naturally, we don’t even realize we are doing it. Our visitors ask the most unique questions and we enjoy answering them. Sometimes they can stump us, but then Chan goes into his “Study Mode” and pretty soon we can answer that question, too.

We are willing to share anything we do on the farm, with any group or individual who want to learn. Most of our field trips are to pick apples or pumpkins, but don’t let that limit you. If you want to come to the farm during any season we will try to accommodate you.

Schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Church Groups, any kind of group is welcome. Tell us what you are working on and we will tailor your visit to help you fulfill your goal.

We do charge for Our Field Trips.  We have a three tier system based on what you plan to do.  An event could be Apple picking, or Pumpkin Patch or a Farm Tour.  You can combine events for the following prices:

One event - $2.50/person

Two Events - $3.25/person

Three Events - $4.00/person

Field Trips – Please call ahead to schedule. We like to schedule field trips when we are closed to the public.  We are open to the public Friday and Saturday from 9:00-6:00 and Sunday from 1:00-6:00 from July thru October. Field Trips can be scheduled anytime.

From Till to Grill Class – This class has been being developed by Cabalo’s Orchard and Vogel Farms. The next class will be offered starting in February 2019 and will last for 8 months. Students will get hands on experience in all aspects of their food production. The class will culminate with a meal prepared by the students made entirely of things they have raised and grown. Enrollment will be limited. To Register "Click Here"

Cooking and Canning Classes - Starting this fall we are planning to offer Cooking Classes with Vogel Farms.  Schedules and Class offerings will be available later this summer.
